OK i just taught myself how to make flash banners. Which is probably really easy for most of you but im not a super HTML wizard so it took me a minute to figure it out. Im still messing around with it so i made a flashy little preview of the spring Hot Topic collection. Which i am super excited about & will be in stores beginning of April i am expecting if not a bit sooner.

Question how do you save a .gif and not have it be so pixalated? Save at a higher res?

Los Angeles city of dreams and failed ambitions. Its the place people come to become something else,but most just seem to never make it. I remember thinking how glamorous a place Hollywood must be. Ever so iconic. In reality its dirty and down and dirty. People talking about themselves and finding out what you can do for them.

Well that’s a part of it. I have been here for 11 years now. Mostly keeping to myself and doing things that make me happy. Being creative and trying to always be the same person i was before i moved here. For the most part i am.

Hello, my name is Jessica and i am one of those glass 1/2 full types pretty positive and a problem solver. If things go bad i look for the bright side. Some times i have anxiety and cannot fall asleep.

I’m a Sagittarius and was born in the year of the rat. I grew up in the 70’s & 80’s which i vote are much better than the 90’s & 00’s

I have found a few ways to deal with this city. I don’t give a fuck what people think about how i look or what i do (which really is be a hermit , work and go to art events), I live and speak and act as i would like others to do for me. I don’t believe in allot of bullshit. I was raised by an east coast mom, zero tolerance for behind your back maneuvers.

I found the places here that make me feel comfortable, and people i can relate with.

I smile and say hello to strangers that pass by and compliment others when i appreciate them.

I don’t take myself to seriously and feel lucky i can be creative and work for myself.

The energy of this city makes me feel drained and morose some times so much that i have to just leave for a few days and reset. Generally that means I’m going back to Santa Cruz or the bay area because that is where i left my heart.

My best friend Angelique took me out to dinner tonight and we are going on an adventure at the end of the month.  We have been friends since high school and she is a classy lady.

Its Saturday night and I’m going to bed.

The things you find while looking for other things. I used to live to go see music. Was a record collector and pretty much cared for little else. To me my bad memory was always filled in by seconds in time where i was listening to whatever song was playing in the back round of my youth’s soundtrack.

I lived in Santa Cruz growing up. And started going to shows at the farm in San Francisco by time i was 12-13 Best show ever 1984(im pretty sure it was that year) Bad Brains @ the farm.  My best friend at the time had a mom who did not mind leaving 12 year old at the sketchy punk club in the middle of nowhere San Francisco.

She also was a mom who would offer massages to our guy friends and slip them qualudes. A whole other story indeed.

We also had a kind of radical punk club in Santa Cruz for a while too actually club culture and then there was always Gilman, which was kind of far i only really went there for shows a few time until i moved to San Francisco years later during the early AFI, Rancid days.

I look back an maybe relize a little why i dont go out as much. Its not the same really.

Shows are so different & the kids are very different.

My sub culture and the sub culture of today is a stark contrast in comparison.

Anyway rant rant rant, i found these ticket stubs while searching for paperwork. All four shows were fantastic.

Its advanced notice but i promise there with be amazing paintings and a very

special performance you will NOT want to miss.

Well if you ever do need a cheeseburger cake go to Gelsons on Santa Monica they will make you one.

I have appreciation for creative baked goods. And things that look creative and make you feel good in general.

Especially lately. It gets to be so depressing everyday when you turn on the news ALL bad, i don’t want to hear about how bad the economy is. I am very aware.

One mention of whats going on overseas in our war?, never. I should be used to that by now.

I had a no news policy for so long and then got obsessed during the campaigning & election that i forgot it mostly just makes me have anxiety.

I know its not probably the most intelligent move but im going back to the my ignorance is bliss bubble.

Its must be sad to be a chocolate easter rabbit and weeks before easter your face has already fallen off still in the box.

This weekend. I am catching up and being a complete hermit.
