Train riding in L.A.
Clothing designer Jessica Louise, above, told Brand X’s Laila Derakhshanian about her Los Angeles, as seen from the L.A.Metro. Louise says:
For a brief time, you feel like you live in a real city riding the L.A. Metro. It’s a mini version of society, and it’s nice to see so many people taking public transportation. From my station at Hollywood and Highland to downtown takes about 12 minutes. I can ride my bike or take the DASH [bus] from my apartment to the train, then walk four blocks to my office in less time than it would take me to drive. And on the way to work, I always stop for coffee or the farmers market. I feel like I’m less stressed and having a better day.
Tell us about your L.A. — and you might be featured here and in the Brand X paper, available in print in boxes all over the city. Just e-mail us at BrandX@latimes.com.
