Couture Halloween Projects

Couture Halloween looks of the week. One of my favorite things to do is spend a day or two making special creative things to photograph. Lately I’ve been really into hat making using different materials.

Felt happens to one of my material loves. For the bat hats I spent an entire day cutting felt and creating a garden of flowers and misc details. The cat hats are slightly different patterns, the leopard one has a point front and snap closure with red organza lining. Sequin hat is lined with heavy weight black satin and is a lovely fit, if I don’t say so myself. I did spend an entire afternoon sampling and patterning this hat.

Sequin Cape has an over sized ornamental button with jumbo snap closure, also is lined with heavy weight black satin.

I shot these using just my alien bees ringflash, I usually use a diffuser when using this light because I just prefer diffused lighting but sdo love the cast shadows with the ringflash.

I usually do not do any seasonal type of products but do like the idea of Halloween I have very fond childhood memories and I know allot people love it. In any case here are a few images of my idea of  halloween fashion. Well, really these are looks that I would find appropriate for everyday but that is possibly just my opinion.
